Today we had a visit from Mrs Davis who teaches 2D.
She loves looking at our blog and wanted to come and read one of her favourite stories called Chickens Aren't The Only Ones by Ruth Heller. It was all about other animals that lay eggs. It was very interesting and informative for KB.
Thank you for visiting us today Mrs Davis.

KB Trackpants swapped last week
Hello KB Parents,
Could you please check your child's sport trackpants size 6.
Last week a new pair (with Inaburra School in white stitching on leg) got swapped with an older size 6 pair.
Both pairs didn't have names on them so I wasn't able to solve the problem.
If you think that your child has worn home a newer pair could you please return to school and I'll swap it with the pair I have kept.
Thanks for your help in this matter,
Mrs Blake

Mystery Readers in KC
In week 5 we had Mrs Cowper come and share one of Darcy's favourite books Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. It proved to be a favourite of many of the students in KC as the recited along with Mrs Cowper.
In week 4 we had Mrs Leong came and share one of Jonathan's favourite books with us. It was called Jonathan by Peter Carnavas. It was a funny story about little boy who tries to scare his family. He might even get scared himself. It had a great twist at the end. Thanks Mrs Leong
Memory Verse Fun
Hello Everyone,
In assembly each week we have been learning a new part to the memory verse about the armour of God.
On Friday it was the challenge between grades.
Kinder had a practise during the week. Here they are rehearsing.
Our turn in assembly! We secretly thought Kinder were the best; however, Year 2 won the competition. Congrats Yr 2!

Week 6 Term 2 Reminders
Cancelled Literacy Groups Again This Week
Dear Parent Helpers,
Unfortunately we have decided to cancel literacy groups this week again due to the carnival on Wednesday and the need to complete more tasks for reporting.
Friday maths groups will still go ahead.
Thanks for your understanding.
Athletic Carnival On Wednesday
Please check the details on the note about times and itinerary for the day. Kindergarten will have recess at school before we depart at 10:15am.
It can be very cold on the day so remember warm clothing, sunscreen, house colours, (if you wish or sport uniform-see previous post on House Allocation) wristband and extra drink bottle.
News Topic
What do you like to dress up as? Why? You can bring in your costume to show if you want to.
Sound Of The Week
‘w’ as in water. ‘u’ as in umbrella.
Thanks for your support. The News Topics have been well prepared and the homework tasks are completed with care each week and look terrific. The Reading Logs are filling up with great comments and some children are reaching their 40 nights of reading.
Have a wonderful week and stay warm.

KB like to guess who may be coming for Mystery Reader. Today we really surprised them by a special guest visit from Mr Coote.
He read Possum Magic by Mem Fox. A wonderful Aussie book about a possum who is tired of being invisible and eats different types of food from each city in Australia to become visible again.
Thanks for coming Mr Coote and sharing your book with us today.

House Allocation and Colours
Dear Parents,
If you are new to the school the students are allocated a sport house. In older grades they receive house points when they enter into races.
In infants they can earn points for their house for good sportmanship and behaviour.
We have included a list of houses and colours if your child wishes to come dressed in their colours otherwise sports uniform is to be worn. It can be quite cold at the oval at this time of the year so please include jumpers/jackets.
They will receive a coloured wrist band on Tuesday to wear to the carnival on Wednesday.
Looking forward to great day on Wednesday.

Term 2 Week 5 Reminders
Hello Everyone,
We have enjoyed another week of learning about subtraction in mathematics, the 5 senses in science, our phonic sounds 'c, k, ck', our author study for the literature unit, Alison Lester, Miffy book series by Dick Bruna in library, writing sentences using the sight words, creating crazy cats in craft, Bounce gymnastics and much more.
Parent Helpers
Thank you to all our parent helpers for your support in the last couple of weeks. We will be having a break from groups this week
(Week 5) to complete other activities; however, groups will be back on in week 6.
Athletic Carnival Permission Notes
Please return the permission slips to class teachers as soon as possible. If your child is unable to leave the oval with you at the end of the infants activities, they can get the bus back to school at the end of the day.
Sound Of the Week
Just a reminder that it is the sound that the letter makes in a word and not the letter name. This week is the sound 'h' as in hat and 'b' as in baby.

KB Mystery Reader Week 4
This week our Mystery Reader was our first aunty.
Alicia's Aunty Leanne read Hairy Maclary From Donaldson's Dairy by Lynley Dodd. It's such a lovely book with fabulous dogs names and rhyming words. We thought it was strange that the dogs were all afraid of the cat and ran away.
Thanks to Leanne for spending some time with us today.

KC Mystery reader week 3
This week we had a special Mystery reader. It was great to have Mr Coote come and read a Coote family favourite 'Two Tough Teddies' by Kilmeny Niland. We heard about 2 teddies looking for someone to love them. We then discussed the special toys and things that we love and maybe take to bed with us. Thank you Mr Coote for coming to share with us.
